DUMBO: From the imagination of Tim Burton, this new take on the Disney classis is nothing short of incredible. Although, it bears no resemblance to the original animated feature, it is still remarkable in its own right (with a homage or two to the cartoon along the way) . A perfect cast includes Colin Farrell as the handler of the elephants, Danny DeVito as the circus owner and ringmaster with Michael Keaton, Eva Green and Alan Arkin in supporting roles. Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins portray Farrell's children and do admirably. That being said, the star of the piece is Dumbo himself and a brilliant bit of CGI he is. (And we get to find out how his name came about.....(you surely didn't think his mother Mrs. Jumbo named him that) The story is a bit darker this time around (as Mr. Burton is wont to do) but I loved every minute of it. And shed a tear or two at the ending.
